INITIAL SITUATION.
In the past, KWB Energiesysteme GmbH has relied on a traditional man-to-goods logistics system throughout the whole company. All areas such as production, spare parts packaging or set formation were supplied manually with the necessary components.
THE CUSTOMER’S OBJECTIVE FOR Fb INDUSTRY AUTOMATION .
As part of the expansion of the production hall with state-of-the-art equipment, the company’s aim was to build a two-storey, partially automated small parts warehouse. The aim was to rethink, redesign and implement the logistics of all internal processes relating to incoming goods, picking and outgoing goods in order to make storage and retrieval less complex and to significantly optimise the handling of picking.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS & CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS.
- Increase in throughput performance. Objective: 500 containers per hour.
- Uncomplicated and space-saving storage and retrieval.
- Optimised handling during order picking.
- Storage of different small parts.
- Storage of pallets.
- Make optimum use of the height of the building to counteract soil sealing.
- Efficient use of available space.

With its many years of industry experience and flexibility, Fb Industry Automation was able to support the company in realising the automation – before, during and after the implementation of the small parts warehouse.
CUSTOMISED Fb COMPACT WAREHOUSE.
The Fb compact warehouse offers maximum individuality, flexibility and scalability. Whether with connected conveyor technology for material supply to workstations, as a flow rack or with a compact picking station; the system can be designed and integrated to meet the individual requirements of each customer. In comparison with traditional storage and retrieval machines (SRMs), each system can be expanded with additional shuttles as throughput increases and all load carriers can be accessed manually at any time, even in the event of unforeseen malfunctions.

STEFAN LEITNER
Project Manager, Fb Industry Automation
“Customers with less experience in the field of automation can be particularly sceptical about whether the new, automated system will bring any benefits. For me, it’s all the better when I hear from the customer’s long-standing employees that the solution makes their work much easier. Another great example of a successful symbiosis between man and machine.”

Sustainability for your intralogistics
Admittedly, change always sounds like a big challenge. But they are also opportunities for further development in a constantly changing market. But how can sustainability be implemented in your company? We show you simple ways in which we can modernize your systems and how artificial intelligence can simplify your processes.
Small, but powerful! Focus on intralogistics load carriers
Systematic coordination of staff and goods within intralogistics to make them a coherent unit comes with its fair share of challenges. Successful internal logistics requires implementation of a series of strategies and processes that make the transportation of goods within a company as efficient as possible.
Selection of the correct container system is of the utmost importance when ensuring things run smoothly. As a core element, it is the fundamental infrastructure for powerful, networked storage logistics.
